Areas

There are different types of areas, which give different effects to those playing in them. This is a list for all of the ones presently in existence--fields will be added as they come about.

Arena - No advantages or disadvatages, but strictly for PVP. No quests.
Celestial - Healing spells recover double.
Dungeon - Masochist boost.
Eatery - Chef boost.
Ethereal - Magic spells deal 2x damage, physical skills deal 0.5x.
Field - Climatic and Heavy Craft boost.
Forest - Hunter boost.
Graveyard - Soul Eater and Enthraller boost.
Hospital - Thaumaturge boost.
Market - Chef and Desperado boost.
Ocean - Aquatic-based breeds and enemies are stonger than non-aquatics.
Residence - All guests in the residence are weakened.
Ruins - Crusader boost.
School - Martial Artist and Tactician boost.
Sky - Only characters who can fly may be here. Those who cannot fly naturally are weakened.
Stage - Siren and Virtuoso boost.
Swamp - Speed down for all land-based characters.
Theme Park - Travestier boost.

Boosts give a slight advantage to the qualifying characters in all stats (+10%). Weakened characters receive the opposite (-10% to all stats).

Safe Zones

These are areas that have no aggressive creatures, and cannot be quested in. You can't have PVP's here either, unless specified otherwise. These are areas for people who want to simply roleplay and nothing more.

Questing

A quest is when a GM (Game Master) takes a number of players into an area to fight monsters. At the end of each battle in a quest, you gain experience, items, and money, all of which are decided by the GM. You may also earn bonuses once you complete the quest, depending on your party's performance.

What you need to do to go on a quest is to contact a GM. The list of GMs is at the top of the front page in the welcome box, under the Notices and Changes section. From there, you need to ask a GM if they are available and tell them who wants to go on the quest. Another way to go about this is to post in the Party Request board. The template for posting is there, which you need to use to give the GM and other players sufficient information.

Various Questing Rules

This section is mainly for the GM's knowledge, but players can learn useful information here as well.

Characters regenerate SP all the time, unless they are dead (they still recover points if unconscious). Even if a spell or skill is used, SP is still regained. Of course, characters cannot recover more than their max amount. Below are the way regen rates are calculated.

HP regeneration rate with a spell boost: 10% of max HP per turn
SP regeneration rate (normal): +5 per turn
SP regeneration rate with a spell boost: +15 per turn

Colors are used by GM's for special text. They are as follows:
Normal text for the players' posts, and for any GM character actions.
Green text for describing what is going on--scenery, character actions, and so on.
Yellow text for when damage is dealt--such as (-15 HP).
Red text for listing the stats of players and enemies.

Alternative colors may be used depending on the site's background colors.

There is not yet a system for the damage amount. One will hopefully be coming up, but for now, a rough estimate is done according to what seems realistic.

Soul Quests

These must be completed in order to revive characters who have been incapacitated. Soul Quests are only conducted by the Admin and require 3-4 players. (However, if there are not this many people available, the GM may add AI characters to your party.) Players will be sent to a particular field to face a set of challenges. If they succeed, the targeted souls of the deceased characters will be reclaimed and revived. The maximum number of souls that can be retrieved is however many characters there are, but each character can only take one soul. So if you enter the quest with three characters and one dies, the two remaining characters can only take the soul each originally came to get. To go on a Soul Quest, please contact Shadecerule.

Trial Quests

Anyone can conduct a trial quest to become a Game Master (GM). Contact Shadecerule to get started. You may take whomever you like on this quest, but remember: you're being evaluated. Everything must be done correctly. After you have completed your trial quest, ask for a review. You will be told of anything you need to take note of, if you need to do another one, or if everything is alright and you're accepted. I will also decide what rewards will be given out for your quest, but players will at least receive a participation prize.
