Status Ailments

Here's a list of the different status ailments and their effects, in alphabetical order. All ailments wear off, unless stated otherwise. Also, if you think of an interesting ailment or effect that has not made its way onto these lists (as if there aren't enough already), send a message to the admin.

Atrophy - Lowers all stats to 1 per level.
Bleed - HP rapidly goes down. Bleeds until ailment is healed. [Rate: 20% of max HP each turn]
Burn Whenever the character makes a battle-related action, a small amount of health is depleted.  [Rate: 15% of max HP]
Charm - Fights allies. GM is in control.
Confusion - Fights allies and enemies. GM is in control.
Critical - Occurs when health lowers below 15%. Critical hits are more easily dealt and received by targets afflicted with critical status. Not only that, but critical foes are easier to escape from when they have someone trapped with a binding attack. Removed when the character is healed.
Curse - SP regeneration is reversed.
Daze - Unable to act for 3 turns.
Disabled - All stats are halved.
Dead - Occurs when HP hits -50. Character is unable to be used until a Soul Quest is performed.
Death Count - Character dies once 5 turns has passed.
Deformed/Digested - Has been absorbed by the devourer and cannot be revived.
Distracted - Cancels action and movement for 1 turn. Also turns attention towards the one distracting.
Exhausted - Occurs at 0 HP or less. Effects are the same as sleep.
Flinch - Makes the target unable to act for a single turn.
Frantic - Greatly lowers character's accuracy and SP costs double.
Frozen - Player is unable to do anything until melted, which is in 3 turns. If the player is attacked physically, they shatter and must be revived. Fire spells instantly remove this ailment.
Full - The maximum number of enemies has been eaten. Speed is halved and the character is more susceptible to critical hits.
Gag - Causes a little damage and makes the target unable to act for a turn. In rare cases, the target will accidentally spit out the character it is trying to swallow. [Rate: 10% of max HP each turn]
Insane - Unable to attack or defend.
Magical/Physical Attack/Defense Down - Selected stat lowered by 1 point per level.
Max HP/SP Lowered - Lowers maximum HP/SP per level by 5. Lasts for the rest of the battle. Does not last the duration of a quest, unless there is only one battle scene and no rest parts (once there is a pause in battle, the effect wears off).
Nightmare - Deals a little less damage than poison. Victim must be asleep.  [Rate: 10% of max HP each turn]
Paralyzed - Player is occasionally immobilized, which is being unable to take actions (indicated by the GM in the post before yours). More effective than sleep.
Petrified - Turned to stone. Petrified until ailment is healed, or when the duel/quest ends in victory. If the quest is failed, the character dies.
Poison - HP slowly goes down.  [Rate: 15% of max HP each turn]
Rabies - Player is has the combined effect of poison and confusion. This also spreads to anyone bitten. [Rate: 15% of max HP per turn]
Sleep - Player is immobilized. Effect is canceled if attacked.
Slow - Speed is halfed.
Sticky - Player cannot escape from battle. All stats are reduced by 10%.
Unconscious - Occurs when HP hits 0 or below. Unable to take any actions, and any health regen effects become null.
Undead - Player is harmed by healing spells and healed by poison and curse.

Status Effects

Here’s a list of the positive effects that can be attained by your character. All effects wear off, like ailments, unless stated otherwise.

Berserk -Raises max number of skills/spells you can use per turn to 2 instead of only 1. Also raises physical attack power by 15%.  Lasts for the rest of the battle, but not the duration of a quest. The exception is if there are no rest parts between battle scenes (once there is a pause in battle, the effect wears off).
Euphoria - All stats up by 1 point per level.
Haste - Speed is doubled.
Invincible - Unable to take damage of any sort.
Magical/Physical Attack/Defense Up - Up by 1 point per level.
Max Hp/Sp Raised - Raises maximum HP/SP per level by 5. Duration is the same as Berserk.
Precision - 100% accuracy.
Recuperation - Recovers more SP each turn. [Rate: 15 per turn]
Regen - Recovers HP each turn. [Rate: 10% of max HP per turn]
